100% YES!!
Strength training boosts skin appearance by stimulating collagen production and skin remodeling, improving blood flow and nutrient delivery, reducing chronic inflammation, and supporting better body composition and sleep. That was a long winded way to explain it, let me break it down for you.

First, skin is made of mostly collagen and elastin, when you strength train you create tiny “micro tears” in the muscle. When your body repairs those tears you become stronger, supporting your surrounding tissues and signaling things like collagen and blood flow in your skin to stay healthy.
Second, strength training elevates heart rate and promotes increased blood flow to the skin (and many tissues). This promotion reduces dullness in your skin and more radiant appearance. It can also help with the removal of metabolic waste from the skin cells.

Third, Strength training lowers inflammation, chronic inflammation and stress contribute to collagen breakdown, pigmentary changes, and aging skin. When you lower your inflammation, skin aging may slow down and you will have texture improvement in your skin.
Finally, exercise can boost skin hydration. Your skin has a barrier and when you are well hydrated your skin looks smoother, more supple. Strength training improves circulation, reducing inflammation, and allows the skins barrier to lose less hydration giving you a more healthy appearance.

My recommendation for You start strength training.
Two times a week, you read that right, just two times a week will get you some fantastic results. Those strength training sessions don’t have to be an one hour or even 30 minutes, just 15 minutes and you are on the road to less inflammation, better metabolic health, better blood sugar management, and better SKIN!!
