Back in the day Carolyn Bessette Kennedy was my fashion icon, and many other peoples too. The new show “Love Story” has created new found interest into the mystique of Carolyn Bessette Kennedy.

Carolyn wore a gown to the Revlon 1998 Fire & Ice Ball. Carolyn’s gown wasn’t loud, it had clean lines, and structured shoulders.
I wanted to copy this look with my own flare attached to it. I found a modern dress, in winter white from Tuckernuck that did just that.

Tuckernuck has created a knit dress that hangs so beautifully but wears so comfortably you could wear it all night and be confident and comfy.

Carolyn’s version was cool and untouchable. My version carries a bit more warmth, vitality, and joy. We are not here to be icy. We are here to be powerful. This isn’t about copying Carolyn Bessette Kennedy it is about embodying that quiet authority.

When Carolyn Bessette Kennedy stepped into the Fire & Ice Ball in that now iconic ivory column gown, it wasn’t dramatic. It wasn’t loud. It wasn’t trend-driven. Minimalism, when done correctly, is not simple. It is exacting. Every seem matters, every piece of jewelry matters.
I choose not only a winter white dress, but simple clean pointed gold shoes from Stuart Weitzman, gold hoop earrings from Target, and a clean winter white bag from Tory Burch. Another accessory I paired with this outfit was the Shelby-Caddis Readers in black. You can shop this look and many items on our HOB store.
Emulating someone’s style, like Carolyn Bessette Kennedy, isn’t becoming her its emulating the interpretation. It says “I respect her style, now I’ll make it mine.”
