It is Sober September at HOB!
We take a look at our relationship with alcohol and ask ourselves if this is something we can give up for a month.
Now is the perfect time to consider eliminating alcohol for a while. All summer we have been doing BBQ’s, parties and vacations. Time to get back to doing the things that serve us; eating healthy, exercise and healthy relationships.
Pictured above is my 10th annual participation in the Memorial Day Murph. It’s a 1-mile run followed by 100 pull-ups, 200 push-ups, 300 squats and we finish it off with another 1-mile run. As you can see, my shirt says SOBER. I’m in long term recovery. It has been over 28 years since I have had a drink. No doubt, the Murph was hard and stopping drinking was hard too, but we can all do hard things! Giving up alcohol has led me to do a lot of fun and hard things that I absolutely love. You don’t have to be a problem drinker to take time off and reap amazing benefits!
This month I will talk about the benefits, and of course the challenges of taking a break from alcohol. There is a lot of support out there.
Grab a friend and join the challenge! Please also comment below if you have ever done a 30-day no drinking challenge and what you thought about it! If you take on this challenge, please also comment and let us know how its going! Thank you.
Have a blessed and wonderful week!
