Camouflage was originally used, in World War 1, for soldiers to blend into their surroundings on the battlefield. Now it has seeped into modern day mainstream culture as an “outdoorsy” print. Used by hunters, hikers, and in fashion. Brands like Ralph Lauren helped popularize the rugged look of camouflage. But it also took on a preppy look as well.
I love camouflage but I never over do the camo print when putting together an outfit.
Dressed up or down camouflage makes a statement when you wear it. Vintage military camouflage is my personal favorite. I pair any “camo” I wear with upscale preppy items.
This fabulous skirt is from Riley Designs a vintage brand that makes one of kind items that are derived from recycled clothing. Incredibly comfortable, this skirt captures the camouflage look I wanted (muted not too bold) which styled well with my vintage 1996 black Gap t-shirt, and Carmensol platform slides.
Finishing the whole look I added my new favorite ShortyLove bag in black with a black and white checker strap.
