Chocolate Nut Bars
These incredibly simple, delicious and versatile cookie/bar are now a huge favorite with family and friends. Ingredients
- 1 3/4 cups crushed graham crackers
- 1/2 cup/stick melted butter
- 2 cups (12 ounces) semi-sweet chocolate chips, divided
- 1 can (14 ounces) sweetened condensed milk (14oz)
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1 cup nuts, chopped (any kind of nuts you wish)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°
- In a medium mixing bowl, combine crumbs and butter and stir to combine.
- In a 13×9-inch baking pan (ungreased) take crumb mixture and press it into the pan firmly. Bake for 8 minutes and take out of the oven and turn the oven down to 350°
- Meanwhile, in a sauce pan over low heat melt 1 cup of the chocolate chips and sweetened condensed milk together. Once chocolate chips are melted take off heat. Add vanilla. Stir to combine.In a small bowl take the remaining 1 cup of chocolate chips and chopped nuts and stir together.
- Spread chocolate/sweetened condensed milk over cooked graham cracker crumbs. The take the chocolate chip/nut mixture and spread on top of that and press down firmly.
- Bake 25-30 minutes in the 350° oven. Cool. Chill, if desired. Cut into square bars. Store loosely covered at room temperature or in the refrigerator.HAPPY EATING!!
