
This is the chocolate sauce my Mother made for us while we were growing up. We would put it on ice cream, spread it on graham crackers or just have a spoonful right from the jar, it’s that good. I make it at Christmas time and give it as gifts as well.This sauce keeps in the refrigerator for at least a month.
Ingredients
- 1 cup chocolate chips (milk or semi-sweet)
- 1/2 cup butter (1 stick)
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 1 1/3 cup evaporated milk
- 1/2 tsp vanilla
Instructions
- In a sauce pan on medium low heat melt together butter and chocolate chips. Once those are melted add powdered sugar, evaporated milk, and vanilla. Stirring consistently~bring to a boil and cook for 8 minutes. Take it off the heat and let it cool. Place sauce in decorative jar to give as a gift or store in the refrigerator for you and your family.HAPPY EATING!!
