Recipe of the Day (#ROTD)
This is the chocolate sauce my Mother made for us while we were growing up. We would put it on ice cream, spread it on graham crackers or just have a spoonful right from the jar, it’s that good. I make it at Christmas time and give it as gifts as well.
This sauce keeps in the refrigerator for at least a month.
In a sauce pan on medium low heat melt together
1 cup chocolate chips (I use milk chocolate chips)
1/2 cup butter
Once those two things are melted
Add:
2 cup powered sugar
1 1/3 cup evaporated milk
1/2 tsp vanilla
Stirring constantly~bring to a boil and cook for 8 minutes. Take off the heat and let cool. Place sauce in decorative jars or just in Tupperware and store in the refrigerator.
