I couldn’t resist buying it, a big beautiful long tulle skirt from Amazon fashion. But once it arrived at my home…then what? How on earth do I wear this skirt without feeling like a Disney princess. That is when I remembered my styling rule: when you have a very dramatic piece let that piece be the star of the outfit. The rest of the outfit should stand back and be the supporting pieces to the dramatic piece.
I choose a simple white t-shirt from Anthropologie that has embellished arm bands that just gives the shirt that special, but not over the top, look.
I chose a clear multi strand long chunky necklace that added some simple depth to the shirt. By doing this the top blended into the lower part of the outfit. Not over powering or competing with the star of the outfit, THE SKIRT.
Finally, I grabbed a former season pump from Sarah Flint that had muted shine and sparkle to them thus adding a bit more eye catching light to the outfit. I also like to wear my hair back so that not even my hair competes with the part of the outfit I am featuring.
The combination of textures, hues, simplicity and glamour gives this outfit an effortless playful yet chic unforgettable impression wherever you end up wearing it.
