Kiwi and Chia Seed Smoothie

This smoothie is also from Dr. Mark Hyman and is used in his 10 day detox program however, I make it all the time and use it to break my fasts as well. It has 10 grams of protein, 265 calories and 2 grams of fat, making it a great and healthy way to get fruit and vegetables in one shot. Plus, it tastes fabulous.
Note: when I buy the ingredients for this or any other smoothie/shake I buy extra so I can make the shake all week long.

Equipment

  • 1 magic bullet OR
  • 1 vitamix

Ingredients
  

  • 1 kiwi skin peeled off
  • 1/4 avocado (I add half or the whole avocado)
  • 4 tbsp chia seeds
  • 1/2 lime (juice only, discard the rest of the lime after its squeezed)
  • 1/4 packed fresh mint leaves
  • 1/2 ice optional
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup spinach

Instructions
 

  • Combine all the ingredients in the magic bullet blender or Vitamix blender and blend on high speed until combined and smooth.
