I started paddle boarding (I called it paddle surfing) in 2011 down in Naples, Florida. I had a home there that was on a beautiful lake and the community had a marina on the lake that had several boards for the members of the community to use. It was a calming little sport but worked my core like crazy. I didn’t go out on windy days at first so I could really get the hang of it before being able to maneuver the board on a challenging windy day.
Fast forward to 2017 and my dear friend Monica called and said let’s buy portable blow up paddle boards and get out there on the lakes in Minnesota.
We also purchased portable pumps that connected to our car’s electricity that allowed us to blow up our boards quickly because we found that hand blowing up our boards was taking up a ton of time and taking away from our paddling time on the lake.
Given paddle boarding is so calming it has mental health benefits, it allows you to disconnect from your phone, computers, and daily stresses. Which can reduce anxiety.
It provides a full body workout. You have to constantly balance while standing on the board and use your core and upper body strength to paddle. Toning your abs, arms, back, and legs.
It is a fun way to see other scenic views slowly so you can savor it all. Offering a different perspective than viewing just on land.
Monica and I paddled the other day and it was so calm and such a perfect summer morning to just get out and paddle around the lake. Usually, we end a paddle session by sitting on our boards and then visit a little, before we hit the road. Glorious!!
Try it for yourself we have included links for a wide range of boards you can look at to purchase.
As many of you know I recently became a brand ambassador for Albionfit. The swimsuits this summer they designed are just the cutest suits plus, they are made with some of the best material. I’ve linked those suits as well.
