In the 1980’s, when I was in high school, the brand Benetton came out with their classic rugby shirt and the popularity of sportswear was born. I had to have one and I had to have any new style rugby Benetton would roll out afterwards.

Rugby shirts were a symbol of fashion forward thinking with a hint of rebellion for us girls given the rugby was a typically a boys shirt. I would always style mine with more embellished jeans or even a very feminine skirt.

Now Anthropologie has come out with the rugby dress!! It is the regular rugby shirt weighted material with a fun Fall colored green and white stripes. It is oversized so buy a size or two down from your normal size. The sleeves are 3/4 length which I also love for Fall weather.

I styled this dress a pair of Alexander McQueen platform sneakers which gives this outfit just a slight twist and draws the eye to both the sneakers and the dress at the same time.
