Autumn just got brighter with this glittery purple skirt from Anthropologie (unfortunately it just sold out but I linked many other options for you). Here are some style tips you can use when you styling an outfit that you want to make easy to wear but it is a bit out of the box.

As I’ve mention before on other posts, monochromatic outfits are just my favorite way to style an outfit. However, I also like taking the one color and mix and matching different hues of that color together. For example, this amethyst purple skirt has multi amethyst hues in the sequins so I paired my shoes with a darker hue of the amethyst in the sequin. I did the same thing with my top I took a lighter hue of one of the sequins and matched my top to that color.

You get dimension in the outfit by staying in the same color family but it gives the outfit less of a punch to the eye. In addition, when you are using one one color to style your outfit you can also use different textures of that color to break up the monochromatic nature of it and create a very classic and simple outfit yet it isn’t boring. I paired my new favorite HOOPER sunglasses from Caddis Life with this outfit as well, to tone down the sequin skirt and give balance to the outfit.

My favorite part of the whole outfit are my Sarah Flint shoes. The Perfect Hayworth 120 shoe has been a favorite of mine for quite some time and they are back in stock. You can use my link and code to shop.

Finally, I just grabbed a fun t-shirt to make this outfit not too “in-your-face” and that allowed me to wear it out to dinner and or just shopping.
Here is a simple framework you can use to put a monochromatic/different hue outfit together for yourself.
- Pick a single hue color family (I picked purple)
- Find 2-3 light or dark pieces from that color family to put together
- Add different textures in the most common hue of that color you are wearing
- Use different accessories with different textures to add contrast and balance to the outfit.
