Uncooked Wreath Cookies

Recipe of the Day (#ROTD)

Uncooked Wreath Cookies

This recipe was given to me by one of my besties years ago, Kristin Veker. These delightful bundles of joy are my sons favorite Christmas cookie, so much so I make these all year long for him.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/4 tsp green food coloring
  • 3 1/2 cups corn flakes
  • 30 large marshmellows
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • powdered sugar

Instructions

  • In a large pot on medium heat melt the butter and marshmallows, consistently stirring. Add the food coloring and stir until incorporated and then add the vanilla. Add corn flakes and take the pot off the stove. Stir and make sure each flake is coated with butter/marshmallow mixture.
  • Meanwhile place a large piece of parchment paper on the counter and take large spoonfuls of the cornflake mixture and place on the paper. With your fingers shape each heap into a wreath shape.
Note: I put butter on my finger tips before I do the shaping of wreaths to prevent my fingers from sticking to the corn flakes mixture.
  • Then I decorate the cookies with red hots, or French dragees to make them look like they have ornaments on them. Finally, I put a small amount of powdered sugar in a sifter and sprinkle the powdered sugar over each cookie. I put them in the refrigerator but they can stay at room temperature.
    Happy Eating!!
