Recipe of the Day (#ROTD)
Baked Virginia Ham
According to my son Otto and my daughter Lizzy's boyfriend Cole, this was the best ham they have ever eaten. I consider that a huge WIN!! This is a recipe from the one and only Ina Garten from her cookbook The Barefoot Contessa. It is incredibly simple and provides great leftovers.
Equipment
- 1 All-Clad Roaster
Ingredients
- 1 14-16lbs fully-cooked spiral cut smoked ham
- 6 cloves garlic
- 81/2 ounces mango chutney (use Major Grey's chutney)
- 1/2 cup dijon mustard
- 1 cup light brown sugar, packed
- Zest of one orange
- 1/4 cup fresh squeezed orange juice
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°. Place the ham in a heavy roasting pan.
- Mince garlic in a food processor fitted with the steel blade. Add chutney, mustard, brown sugar, orange zest and orange juice until smooth.
- Pour the glaze over the ham and bake for 1 hour, until the ham is fully heated and the glaze is well browned. Serve hot or room temperature.Happy Eating!!
