Epitome Bars

This recipe is from one of my best friends Katie McCollow.
Epitome bars are a type of dessert or snack made from a cookie-like dough that is pressed into a baking pan and baked until golden brown. Using jarred Caramel sauce takes these bars to the next level.

  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 3/4 cup melted butter
  • 3/4 cup caramel topping (not sauce)
  • 3 tbsp flour
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecan

  • Pre heat oven 350°
  • Mix flour, oats, brown sugar, soda, salt,
  • Add melted butter, press 1/2 mixture into 9" square pan.
  • Bake for 10 minutes
  • Mix caramel topping with 3T flour, pour over baked crust, sprinkle on chocolate chips and nuts. Sprinkle with rest of oat mixture
    Bake 15-20 minutes.

    Happy Eating!!
