Gorilla Bread

Recipe of the Day (#ROTD)

Gorilla Bread

This incredibly easy recipe is a crowd pleaser. I make it most Christmas mornings or when the whole family is home and I need a simple morning dish to feed everyone.
This is a Paula Dean recipe @foodnetwork

  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 tbsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 8oz package cream cheese
  • 2 12oz cans refrigerated biscuits (10 count)
  • 1 1/2 cups coarsely chopped walnuts

  • Preheat the oven to 350°
  • Spray a bundt pan with non stick cooking spray.
  • Mix the sugar and cinnamon together. In a sauce pan, on medium heat, melt the butter and brown sugar, stirring well and set aside. Cut the cream cheese into 20 equal cubes. Press the biscuits out with your fingers and sprinkle 1/2 tsp of cinnamon and sugar mixture. Place a cube of cream cheese in the center of each biscuit wrapping and sealing the dough around the cream cheese.
Sprinkle 1/2 cup of nuts into the bottom of the bundt pan. Place half of the prepared biscuits in the pan. Sprinkle with more cinnamon and sugar mixture. Pour half of the butter mixture over those biscuits.
Sprinkle half of the chopped nuts over that and then repeat the whole process on top of those biscuits with remaining prepared biscuits, cinnamon sugar and butter mixture then remaining nuts.
  • Bake 50 minutes
  • Remove from oven and let cool 5 minutes. Place a plate on top of bundt pan and invert. Serve
    Happy Eating!!
