Holiday Tartan Outfit

Plaid is one of my all time favorite patterns. As you all know I love mixing feminine looking clothes that have just a swirl of masculine.

Growing up I could sit and go through my Grandma Zada’s jewelry draws for hours however, if my brothers and cousins started a baseball game in the backyard I was IN!!

We spent a lot of time at my Grandmother Zada O’Brien Foley’s home and Christmas was no exception.

One thing we always did at Christmas was get dressed up for the two big dinners (Christmas Eve & Christmas Day).

(above my brothers Peter & Tom, along with my sister Ann and our cousin Kevin).

We even kept up the “dressing for Christmas dinner” while we were in high school.

(Below my sister Ann & I/Christmas in the 80’s).

Now I host those two big dinners at my home and we still try and dress up for the occasion.

Of all the plaids Royal Stewart Tartan is my favorite. It’s festive and bright and just instantly puts you in the holiday mood.

I styled this J.Crew Factory pant suit with black suede Ann Mashburn heeled buckle shoes, an Etcetera black mock neck tank (former season), and earrings from J.Crew.

Styling a more masculine outfit with very feminine accouterments creates some contrast, it also makes the outfit feel more polished or put together. Take it from the stylish tomboy.
