The AFRM clothing company is based in L.A. and it gets its name from “an affirmation of ones self and one’s style.” Which is right up the HOB’s ideals. The brand describes its clothes as pieces meant to reflect your spirit, your moments, and your moods.
This skirt is the “lotus lemon” version, a huge flower sweeping around the body, with a fitted, figure-skimming shape that softly flares towards the floor. I styled this incredibly comfortable skirt, with a white button down shirt from Anthropologie, platform mules from Larroude, and earrings from Voisson.
I tied the button down shirt instead of tucking it into my skirt. It gave me a sophisticated relaxed look which is what I felt the outfit needed. Because my earrings were very unique and colorful and big I didn’t wear any other jewelry. That move let the earrings shine.
I wanted the skirt and earrings to be the stars of the outfit so my shirt and shoes needed to be toned down. You don’t want your outfit to be competing with each other.
