Red for Summer

Outfit of the Day

Red, one of my favorite colors.

Unfortunately this gorgeous red dress is sold out at the moment on Tuckernuck. It is by another favorite of mine designer Diane Von Fürstenberg. A Belgian designer best known for her iconic “wrap dress” made popular in the 1970’s.

My Manolo Blahnik red patent leather pumps are a treasured item in my closet worn only for the most fabulous of occasions.

Both designers got their start in 1969, Manolo Blahnik by show casting his collection to the then editor of Vogue Magazine Diana Vreeland. Who encouraged him to design everything from shoes too accessories.

Diane Von Fürstenberg also met with Vreeland in 1969, who declared her designs “absolutely smashing”. DVF went on to design the iconic wrap dress that is included in a collection of DVF’s at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.

I styled this entire ensemble with SugarFix embellished earrings and a pair of Caddis Life Readers. The earrings are from Target no less which is such a fun juxtaposition.
