I Took on the LT Games-and Survived by Erin Schindler

What happens when you mix CrossFit intensity with HYROX grit? You get the LT Games

In October, I signed up for the very first one at Lifetime Fitness inside the Target Center in
Minneapolis. Spoiler alert: it was brutal, it was amazing, and yes, I’d do it again!
The inaugural event was at the Target Center, and it was buzzing with energy, music, athletes
everywhere, and that electric feeling of being part of something brand new.

This wasn’t just any fitness event—it was the inaugural LT Games, and the lineup was stacked. I found myself competing on the same day with Noah Olson (yes, THAT Noah Olson) and other incredible CrossFit and Hyrox athletes.

Talk about intimidating and inspiring all at once.

The LT Games are no joke.

Think 17 stations stations designed to test every ounce of strength, endurance, and mental grit you’ve got.

My time? 1:21:12. Not bad, right? Except… I didn’t finish two stations: in 6 minutes I had to complete 88 55lb. barbell shoulder-to-overheads. Yes, 88!
And in the other station, 100 15lb dumbbell ground-to-overheads. Cue two six-minute penalties.
Ouch. Let’s just say by the time I hit those movements, my arms felt like overcooked noodles.
But here’s the thing—I gave it everything I had!

Lifetime Fitness didn’t just bring the heat—they brought the swag. Free NOBULL sneakers (yes,
FREE), an awesome swag bag packed with goodies, and the kind of event shirt you’ll actually
want to wear again. It felt like Christmas morning for fitness junkies.

Was it hard?

Absolutely.

Was it fun?

Even more so. There’s something magical about pushing past your limits surrounded by a community that cheers you on—even when you’re gasping for air and questioning your life choices.

Would I do it again?

100%.

Because the hardest things are often the most rewarding. Gerald, a trainer from my home Lifetime gym in St. Louis Park, was my very own personal judge who was with me the whole time! He cheered me and encouraged me….and yes, made sure I did everything to standard.

So, here’s to the LT Games: the sweat, the struggle, the sneakers, and the smiles. If you ever
get the chance to sign up, take it.

And maybe start practicing those shoulder-to-overheads and ground to overheads now.
