Magical Noodle Salad
When my children were little I made dinner every night and that included a salad. One of my best friends did the same and the two of us share many many recipes, this is one of them. It is simple but delicious salad and can be ready in minutes. I called it "Magical Noodle Salad" so it sounded enchanting to my kids to eat and it WORKED!!
Ingredients
- 1 bag coleslaw mixed colored coleslaw
- 3 small green onions, chopped including some of the green part of the onion
- 1 package Ramon noodle, I prefer the chicken flavored/save the flavor package/ (crunch up the dried noodles so they are very small pieces)
- 4 tbsp slivered almonds
- 2 tsp garlic salt
Dressing
- 3 tbsp sugar
- 3 tbsp apple cider vinegar
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp pepper
- 1/4 cup olive oil OR vegetable oil
- 1 packet Ramon noodle flavoring from the package
Instructions
- Empty the whole bag of coleslaw into a large salad bowl.
- In a small sauté pan on medium heat, take the slivered almonds, sliced green onions and crunched up dry Ramon noodles and sprinkle the garlic salt on the whole mixture. Brown the entire mixture for about 3-4 minutes (may be quicker depending on your stove tops BTU's). Once this mixture is browned dump the whole mixture unto the coleslaw.
- In a small jar, with a lid, put apple cider vinegar, salt, pepper, Ramon noodle flavor packet, & olive oil into the jar. Put lid on and over a sink shake the dressing mixture. {Always shake salad dressing over a sink, in case the lid of the jar loosens or leaks easier to clean up}Immediately open the jar and dump entire jar of dressing unto the coleslaw and cooked mixture of onions and almonds slivers. Toss the salad for at least 1 or 2 minutes so all the coleslaw gets coated.
- Note: If you want the dressing to be creamy add 2-3 tbsp of heavy cream to the salad dressing jar before you shake it. Yum!!HAPPY EATING!!
