What is a HIIT workout?

High-Intensity Interval training, is form of exercise that alternates between shorts burst of intense activity and periods of rest or lower-intensity exercise.

The workouts are characterized by their high-intensity, where you push yourself to your maximum effort during the exercise.

The intervals consist of short bursts of work (typically 20-30 seconds or up to a minute) of working that exercise as intensely as your body can work. The rest.

Variety of exercises keep you interested and engaged.

HIIT workouts are time efficient therefore you can hit more body part quicker and get your workout done and on with your day. HIIT workouts also are effective in burning fat and enhancing your endurance and strength.

I have created a very quick and efficient HIIT workout for you to do anywhere. If you don’t weights use soup cans or anything larger.

Equipment

Yo gorilla mat/dumbbells/

The Workout

4 Rounds of each exercise (DB Swings are done twice) working with a minute for each exercise and a 30 second rest in between each exercise. After each Round (if you feel comfortable) go up in weight (by 5 or 10 lbs.)

  • DB Thrusters (1 minute / 30 second rest)
  • DB Swings (1 minute / 30 second rest)
  • Weighted Lunges (1 minute / 30 second rest)
  • DB Swings (1 minute / 30 second rest)

Challenge yourself see how many Rounds you can get through, let me know if you complete all 4 Rounds (its not easy)
