The Art of Juxtaposition Outfit

The Susy Shift dress from Ann Mashburn channels unmistakable 1960’s charm.
The plaid is classic and composed, the cut is clean and unfussy.
The dress itself is timeless with a touch of elegance.
What I feel transforms this dress is the addition of black leather, block heeled motor boots.
They are tailored and elegant, in a rougher way, adding a strong and modern flare to the entire outfit.
I wore my hair in a simple ponytail, not to distract from the plaid in the Susy Shift dress and added a few simple gold bracelets from Roxanne Assoulin that had a touch of sparkle to them.
I layered a simple black turtleneck under the Susy Shift dress to make it look even sharper.
Finally, by adding the motor boots, that elongated the line of my leg adding a slight edge to the look, I was able to turn a classic look into something I felt comfortable and confident to wear.
When an outfit blends opposing ideas, feminine and bold, polished and cool, it tells a richer story. This way I love juxtaposition outfits, they are intentional without feeling over-styled.
