If you have ever spent a winter sitting in a Minnesota hockey arena, you already understand the assignment. Warmth matters. But I still want to feel like myself when I walk into that arena, not dressed like polar bear.
This is the Beaumont Robe from Delta Roam in their warm sand color, and it may be one of the most Minnesota pieces I have ever put on The House of OBrien. It is long, warm, roomy and made for the kid of cold that finds you even when you are technically indoors.
The pockets alone on this coat are so fabulous for a person spending a lot of time going back and forth to the hockey rink. (Hockey Moms). The pockets can hold phones, wallets, keys, gloves, snacks, whatever you end up carrying.
What I love most is that it does not feel like a traditional bulky winter coat. It has this cool, slightly unexpected look that makes it just as good over an outfit as it is heading into the rink in your sweatpants and sweatshirt.
I paired this coat with a Ralph Lauren knit dress, white platform Converse tennis shoes and my Caddis Hooper sunglasses. The bright red against the Warm Sand color makes the whole outfit feel fun and polished without trying too hard.
For my hockey Moms, this one makes so much sense. You can throw it over just about anything, load up those pockets and settle in for another cold night at the rink. Minnesota style, but practical.
