Coaches Corner featuring Kathleen Johnston

I remember when Kathleen started coming to my Friday cardio resistance class she would aways be smiling and chatting me up after class however, she would usually have to rush off to get back to work. I always thought it was so sweet of her to take time out of her day to come to my class.

Sure enough when asked what motivates her to work out she answered; she found joy in the activity of working out plus, the motivation of all her friends at Lifetime Fitness. She looks at it like “girl friend time” and she gets to see her friends everyday. She prioritizes her schedule so she can attend classes daily.

Kathleen’s #1 tip for someone to start working out is: Listen to your body. Start low and slow. Sign up for a class a week ahead of time. Just get your workout clothes on get moving!

She grew up running track as a short distance runner and a long jumper. She is extremely hard working on top of her full time job Kathleen, in the last 10 years, has been a barista at Starbucks a gift wrapped at VonMaur during the holiday season.

Whenever Kathleen isn’t motivated to workout she reminds herself how GREAT she feels after the workout is completed and how good she sleeps and how her day is just slightly better because she took care of herself and her energy in positive way.

This is a true athlete week after week she shows up at the gym, and with a smile. She works out very hard and I’m so proud of Katheen.

Enjoy!!
